LECTURE [28/08]

In today's lecture, our lecturer taught us the basics of using Adobe Illustrator to trace shapes out of images. He also gave us a peep of what to expect in this module which not only includes using AI to help do models and garment tracing but also mood boards using Photoshop.

PROJECT BRIEF

Starting from the basics of using Adobe Illustration to creating more interesting concept boards, fashion ads etc, as well as precise and clear technical drawings.

PROJECT 01: PHOTO ILLUSTRATION - POP ART

[Week 1 - Week 4]

For the first few weeks, our lecturer taught us how to use Adobe Illustrator, based on how to trace, colour, add detail, learn some basic tool and their functions, and etc.

PROJECT 02: EXPERIMENTAL DIGITAL COLOURING - REALISM

[Week 4 - Week 7]

After learning the basics, we learned how to digitally create technical drawings of basic shirts, undergarments, trench coats, and blazer suits for both menswear and womenswear. In this assessment, we learnt how to make zippers, buttons, hook & eyes and etc from scratch using Adobe Illustrator. We also learned how to add fabrics and embed them into the design.

FINAL PROJECT: DIGITAL ADS ILLUSTRATION

[Week 7- Week 14]

In this final assessment we are to learn on how to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create moodboards and technical drawings.

This assessment requires us to make:

Customer Profile
Design Concept
Hair & Make-Up Concept Board
Model Line Up
Moodboards (3 samples)
Technical Drawing

We have to do these based on our current collection. My current collection is myy final year project which is 'It's All In Your Head AW24', which speaks about escaping reality with the help of music and this collection consist of garments that are body fitting and a mixture of avant-garde and Ready-To-Wear to show that everyone can be who they are in their own imaginary world.
