Task 02: Fashion Era & Inspiration

LECTURE [09/05]

In today's lecture, Ms Maria briefed us about Project 2. We are to find designers who utilize fashion history ranging from the 90s to below as an inspiration to build their collections. Using our previous Project 1 notes to aid in finding out about the era and what happens during that time.

ASSIGNMENT 02

We are to understand how ideas/inspiration of historical influence is interpreted in a collection and also how designers apply their research/idea to their masterpiece, and the impact it brings into the industry. 

PROCESS

I searched quite a number of brands that utilized history or art inspired to make their collection. I narrowed my options into two, Versace Resort 2020 & Balenciaga's The Lost Tapes'.

I choose to do Versace Resort 2020 collection because it has more influences from the historical event. The collection is inspired by the Wild West era or the American West.

Ms Maria told us to include the following in our presentation:

• A video/preview of the collection
• Range of collection photos
• Where does the designer get the inspiration from?
• Which era is the designer inspired from?
• What is the theme of the collection?
• How does the designer elaborate the inspiration into the collection?
• What is the story/message the designer wishes to show throughout the collection?
• Color palette of the collection.

Once we have found the information and pasted it onto our slides, we are to do a digital presentation in PowerPoint.
