Task 02: Experimentation on Media - Color Pencil

LECTURE [26/04]

In the previous class with Mr JR, he told us to bring in color pencils and search for floral fashion editorials [pictures] Spring/Summer.

ASSIGNMENT 02

The theme is Spring&Summer. We are to choose any selection of fashion editorials on Pinterest and use the color pencils to create the scrubbing method in order to construct our chosen editorial.

PROCESS

I searched for some images with floral patterns as the theme was Spring/Summer. Mr JR mentioned that we could also search for garments with patterns or geometrical shapes. 

I chose to do this piece as it was vibrant and vivid. Mr JR agreed with this one so I begin to do my trial before starting on the illustration board.

I started my trial picture using A4 size. Mr JR told us that it wasn't necessary to complete the trial by coloring it 100%. I did at least 40-45% of color onto my trial piece and send it to Mr JR for feedback.

FEEDBACK

"The piece is looking good! Soft and consistent strokes, well done. You may now proceed to transfer it onto the illustration board."

After getting feedback from Mr JR, I started plotting the borders 1 inch at the top and sides and 2 inches at the bottom. I traced the A3 image onto the illustration board. 

Mr JR told us to spray a polishing finish onto our coloring illustration so that the color will stay onto the illustration and give it a shiny effect.

DIGITAL SUBMISSION

Mr JR told us to frame our illustration artwork into a black A3 frame for a neater and presentable submission.
