LECTURE [06/09]

A collection of garments tells us a story as well as the designer's aesthetic and the theme of the collection. To begin a fashion collection, the designer must consider the type of fabric used, color, style and the overall look of the garment. 

A fashion collection of garments group together and it is presented in various ways from runway to exhibitions. For a collection to be strong it should have a proper direction and storyline. The designer's statement for this collection is to inspire and entice the consumers.

RESEARCH

Theme- What is the topic of your collection?

Types of Collection- Ready-to-wear, Couture, Seasonal, Pre-Collection, Special, Mens-Wear, Resort, Pre-Fall

Target Market- Who are your consumers? 

Summary- Brief summary of the collection.

MARKET SEGEMENT

Geographically- Country/City, Language, Density, Climate, Area, Population

Demographics- Age, Gender, Education, Income, Social Status, Occupation, Life Stage

Behavioral- Usage, Intent, Occassion, User Status, Engagement, Benefits, Life Cycle

Psychographics- Lifestyle, Values, Attitudes, Personality, Concerns, Interest, Opinions
