Exercise 02: 9-Head-Figure Drawing

LECTURE [30/08]
In today's lecture, we learned how to draw and understand about 9-Head-Figure Drawing or as known as Croquis. A croquis is an illustration template where you can trace out your designs onto this fashion figure or template. Every designer has their own aesthetic or identity when creating these croquis.

A croquis design is often proportional and balanced like a real model figure. The number of heads in a 9-Head-Figure drawing can go higher depending on the figure's pose.

EXERCISE 02
To sketch out the 9-Head-Figure Drawing and create a well proportional and balanced figure.

Left: 9-Head-Figure Drawing
Middle: Figure Drawing Style 2 (1st Attempt)
Right: Character Figure Drawing (Missing the details on the left arm)

The normal 9-Head-Figure is a standing still-like figure whilst figure style 2 is more of the figure leaning towards the side a little as if it's walking on the runway.

FEEDBACK
By: Ms Maria
"Exaggerate the character figure drawing more because it still looks like a normal 9-Head-Figure."
Character Figure Design

This was a small exercise given by Ms Maria, to help us analyze the figure and draw it out according to its proportion. On the right, is my figure drawing of this alien figure on the left.

Left: Figure Drawing Style 2
Right: Figure Drawing Style 2 (opposite direction)

I tried sketching the figure style 2 once again as I wasn't satisfied with the first one I drew. Here is the second attempt of my figure drawing style 2.

TEMPLATE [PROJECT 01]
I will be using these croquis designs as a template for my first project. In accordance with Ms Maria's feedback on my croquis design to improve and refine the legs.
